Proposals for a Public Artwork (2018-)

Proposals for a Public Artwork is a new socially engaged project that includes the general public to imagine their own artwork/sculpture/idea in a space. This is an ongoing project that will attempt to reshape the way we think about the space around us and to blur the boundaries of imagination, fact and fiction. Will these artworks ever exist?

To begin this project, we hosted a workshop in the centre of Roath, Cardiff as part of MadeinRoath festival. We invited the general public to draw imaginary sculptures on a black and white print of well known places around Roath.  The amount of participants that took part was undoubtedly overwhelming. From UFO’s to new water saving invention in Roath, the imagination of children and adults spilled out onto the A3 prints as they invented and reshaped their home. Thank you to all that took part.
